[Acid](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/300687/ways-to-relieve-acid-reflux-in-your-body-without-medication) rain is the disastrous results of an air pollution. Burning of fuels emits different types of chemicals in an atmosphere. The smoke that comes from a fire or the fumes that come out of a car exhaust not only contains the sooty grey particles that is visible to us, they also contains lots of invisible gases that can be even more harmful to our environment. ![What is the mean of Acid Rain ?](https://answers.mindstick.com/questionanswer/b0780a4c-e106-4b62-af0a-90ce14f057ac/images/24f686a4-f7d2-4c89-a519-afc900ffa436.jpeg) Power stations, factories and cars all burn fuels and therefore they all produce polluting gases. Some of these gases (especially nitrogen oxides and sulphur dioxide) react with the tiny droplets of water in clouds to form sulphuric and nitric acids. The rain from these clouds then falls as very weak acid - which is why it is known as "acid rain". Rain is always slightly acidic because it mixes with naturally occurring oxides in the air. Unpolluted rain would have a pH value of between 5 and 6. When the air becomes more polluted with nitrogen oxides and sulphur dioxide the acidity can increase to a pH value of 4. Some rain has even been recorded as being pH2. The acid can also take the form of snow, mists and dry dusts. The rain sometimes falls many miles from the source of pollution but wherever it falls it can have a serious effect on soil, trees, buildings and water. Also, forests all over the world are dying, fish are dying due to this hazardous rain. \

![What is the mean of Acid Rain ?](https://answers.mindstick.com/questionanswer/b0780a4c-e106-4b62-af0a-90ce14f057ac/images/5fbe5f18-de64-422f-b560-c299cf6ca0a8.jpeg)\

Rain in which chemical elements or pollutants contained in the atmosphere have been mixed and which fall on the earth as a light acidic concentration is known as Acid Rain.

Acid rain, it is naturally acidic. The reason for this is that **CO2 (carbon dioxide),** which is present in the natural atmosphere of the earth, reacts with water to form carbonic acid.

Acids in acid rain come from two types of air pollution. So2 & Nox, these pollutants are initially emitted into the atmosphere by the burning of factory chimneys, buses, and automated vehicles.

The death of aquatic animals due to acid rain and the decline in plant growth, lethal elements like copper and lead in the water, all these effects can be seen. Acid rain is the cause of the destruction of forests in Germany and Western Europe.

The solution to this problem is possible in one way. For this, controlling the sources of deadly air and substances from where these pollutants are originating, and giving all the information to all those individuals and organizations working on this subject.
