**Overview** **Gobar gas is also known as Biogas** mainly consists of **methane (CH4)** and **carbon dioxide (CO2)** and also has a small amount of **hydrogen sulfide (H2s)**, **siloxanes,** and **moisture**. These all gases can be combusted and oxidized with oxygen. The energy released from the gases provides the gas to be used as the fuel. It can be used in the **fuel cells** and it can be also transferred into **electric energy** using the **gas engine by converting the gas to electric energy.** The gas can be compressed after removing the **carbon dioxide** from it. The process of converting the gas to energy is the same as the **conversion of the natural gas and compressed into the CNG which can be used to run the power vehicle.** \
**Composition in the Biogas** The composition of the biogas depends on the substrate composition **also the anaerobic reactor affects the process of making**. The **landfill gas** which is commercial in the purpose of the house contains **Methane gas** in the **composition of about 50%**. Whereas **advanced technology** can **produce biogas** which has a composition of about **55% to 60%.** \
**Containments** **Sulfur compound** The most common containment in the biogas is the hydrogen sulfide **(H2S)** also the other compound including this present in the gas like **Thiols**. This Sulphur compound is when yielded it became the corrosive compound **Sulphur dioxide (SO2)** and**[sulphuric acid (H2SO4)](https://www.britannica.com/science/sulfuric-acid)** which is hazardous. \
**Ammonia (NH2)** Ammonia is produced from the **organic compound containing Nitrogen**, **Nitrous oxide, and amino acid in proteins.** \
**Siloxanes** This is formed due to the presence of soap and detergents because they **contain anaerobic decomposition** in them. During the release of **siloxanes**, it can combine with free oxygen in the combustion gas. \
**Production** The production of biogas is dependent mainly on the **two methods** one is the **natural method** and the other is the **industrial method.** It is produced with the help of methanogens and **sulfate-reducing** **bacteria.** Naturally, it is produced with the **help of the soil and the presence of the methanogens and most of it can be obtained from the wetland soil.** Industrially, it is produced with the help of **Bio- Gas Plants** which sometimes can be **called the anaerobic digester.** Read More [Methane is emitted from which of the following?](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/72373/methane-is-emitted-from-which-of-the-following)
