**March 18, 2019 -** The Assam government led by Bhartiya Janata Party launched the "i-help" initiative to promote digital electoral literacy among the voters of the state for the then-upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections. It was a highly regarded step for which even EIC (Election Commission of India) plus the civil society gave it's green nod plus widely appreciated it.

It was a joint venture between CEO (Chief Electoral Officer) and Common Services Centre (CSC) both belonging to the state of Assam. CEO Mukesh Chandra Sahu said that the state is going to experience a transition period of ballot to the digital voting pattern. CSC was acknowledged for playing a vital role in educating people about IT-related services during the election period.

This specific initiative filled the computerized partition and satisfy the goal of turning the General Election more comprehensive and participatory. The whole program was being dispatched under the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) in the state and it is outfitted to guarantee that no citizen is abandoned.

Over 2.17 crore voter,including in any event 7.06 lakh beginners, practiced their voting in a three-stage polls to choose 14 parliamentarians from Assam.
