If a program isn't up to date, it might go rogue after installing a new system update. This is most often the result of a large iOS upgrade transition. Because the minimum system requirements for programs may vary, the app may already be operating in an unsupported version. As a result, the program will not operate on the new platform effectively. App developers, seeing these possibilities, deploy upgrades shortly before or after a major iOS version is published. You'll have to do it manually if you haven't set your applications or device to install updates automatically. On your [iPhone SE](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/51459/why-does-your-iphone-se-keep-prompting-liquid-has-been-detected-warning-and-how-to-fix-it), follow these steps to check for and install pending app updates:

1. From the Home screen, tap the App Store icon.

2. Tap the Updates symbol in the lower right corner of the App Store main screen. The screen then displays a list of applications that have outstanding updates.

3. From the list, locate the Spotify app and touch the Update icon next to it. The Spotify app's pending update will then be installed.

4. If you notice further app updates available, touch the Update All icon in the upper right corner of the screen to update all of them at once.

Allow all applications to complete their updates before rebooting or soft-resetting your iPhone SE to activate the new app adjustments. Don't forget to give Spotify a spin to see whether it's already up and running.

If deleting your **iPhone's** background apps doesn't work, consider doing a soft reset. As a result, you'll be able to clear any incorrect cache that may have created issues with **Google services**, specifically the **Gmail app** on your iPhone. Simply follow these instructions to soft reset your **iPhone XS Max:** \
\
1. Press and **hold the Side and Volume buttons** at the same time for a few seconds. ![How to fix Gmail that doesn’t load properly or keeps crashing on an iPhone SE after updating to iOS 11.4.1](https://answers.mindstick.com/questionanswer/c6c975d5-e31c-4cbd-8089-8a1deedba21e/images/3556e12c-5175-4a8b-9d60-8eb111f124ec.jpeg)\
\
2. When the **Slide to Power Off** command displays, release both buttons. \
3. To switch off the phone, **drag the Power off slider to the right.** \
4. Press and **hold the Side button for another 30 second**s until the Apple logo shows, then release. \
The typical soft reset won't work if your iPhone becomes unresponsive after the Gmail app crashes. In this scenario, use these procedures to force your iPhone XS Max to **restart:** \

1 Quickly press and **release the Volume Down button.** 2. Finally, hold down the **Side button until** you see the Apple logo. Both of these restart techniques do not affect any saved data on the phone's internal memory, therefore no backups are required.
