Other software issues are more complicated, and a soft reset or force reboot of the device will not fix them. In this scenario, you can use iOS restore, which is a more complex approach. Because the procedure will wipe and reload the software on your device, it's a good idea to make a backup first. A system restore is another approach to guarantee that the issue you're having has nothing to do with the program. In fact, before starting a hardware repair, professionals would normally try to recover your iPhone. You may back up your **iPhone SE** to iCloud or iTunes, and then restore it using iTunes by following **these steps:**

- **Connect your iPhone SE** to your computer with the USB or Lightning connector that came with it.
- Wait for iTunes to identify your device after opening it on your computer. Make sure you're **running the most recent version of iTunes.**
- To proceed, **press the Trust** This Computer option on your smartphone if asked.
- In iTunes, choose your **iPhone SE** from the list of available devices.
- **Restoring** your iPhone is the option you should choose.
- You have the option of restoring from a backup or **restoring to factory defaults.**

To finish the iOS restore procedure, follow the onscreen prompts, and then proceed with your iPhone setup.
