The **Lockdown folder is a password-protected** and hidden folder that stores a variety of temporary files, most of which are linked to synchronizing Apple devices with iTunes. This folder may be found on any computer that has the iTunes software installed. Resetting the Lockdown folder can assist in erasing any faulty data that may have caused iTunes problems and troubles, such as the iOS device recognition [error](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/459/iis-7-error-503-service-unavailable). The following is how it works: \

- **Remove any Apple devices** that are currently linked to your computer and disconnect them.
- By hitting the **Windows logo key and the R key** on the computer keyboard, you may access the **Run command.**
- In the Run command search box, type percent **ProgramData% and hit Enter.**
- **Double-click on the Apple folder** after you've found it. After that, the folder will open.
- Locate the **Lockdown folder** and **right-click on it.**
- Select **Delete from the drop-down menu.**
- To confirm the action, click **Delete or OK**

**Restart your computer** and then see if the problem has been resolved afterward.
