**: Double-check that it isn't a basic system failure.** If you attempted to charge or turn on your [iPhone 6s](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/50387/how-to-fix-apple-iphone-6s-problem-on-calls-that-go-straight-to-voicemail) Plus and it didn't work, it's possible that iOS (your device's operating system) crashed, rendering your phone inoperable and preventing charging (yes, the operating system has a big role in making sure the phone is charging properly). \
If you assume it's a system crash, there's just one thing you can do to fix it: press and hold the Power and Home buttons together for 20 seconds. The Apple logo would then show, indicating that the system has been restored and the problem has been resolved. \
: **Continue to isolate the issue.** So, the iPhone didn't charge, and it doesn't appear like there was a system crash. To troubleshoot the issue further, try the following: Examine your device's charging port to determine whether trash or lint has gotten in the way. Check for any damage to the USB cord. Check the power supply by inserting other appliances into the same outlet where you charged your phone, or just plugging the adaptor into different outlets. \
**: Seek assistance.** If you've made it this far, your iPhone has a major problem, and you'll need someone with enough experience and authorization to fix it further, either by opening the phone or reinstalling the software. In other words, seek Apple's technical assistance. Before you go to the shop, make an appointment at the genius bar.
