On the Mail app, **double-check your email account settings.** \

1. Go to the **Settings menu.**
2. Select **Mail, Contacts, and Calendars** from the drop-down menu.
3. Select the **email account** and tap it.
4. Re-tap on the account if necessary.
5. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page.
6. Tap the **right-arrow (>) next to SMTP** server details under Outgoing Mail Server (hostname).
7. Right underneath Primary Server, tap the right arrow next to the hostname.
8. Enable the **'Use SSL' option.**
9. The authentication method must be 'Password.'

Make sure you go over all of the critical server details, including the following: \
**smtp.server.com is an example of a hostname.** Your whole email address, including the information following @, is your username (domain name). **Password** – Your email's valid password. Re-enter the password if necessary. Your email service provider will supply you with the server port number.
