Apps that you've already used are still in standby mode. This implies that these programs will continue to run in the background unless you actively close them. The more background programs you have, the more workloads you may add to the processor's task queues. So, even if you're not using your **iPhone**, such as when it's locked or inactive for a while, the CPU is still operating since certain background activities are still running. As a result, it's a good idea to close background apps from time to time (ideally more frequently) to **avoid issues like overheating and power waste on the iPhone.** \

- Quickly **press the Home button** twice and swipe each app off the top of the screen to quit or dismiss them altogether.

Perform a soft reset or reboot your iPhone 7 after closing all of your background apps.
