**[Secure](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/44535/smart-ways-to-secure-self-storage-facilities) Wi-Fi networks,** as the name indicates, are password-protected. The lock icon next to the network name indicates that a wireless network is secure. You mus**t enter the right password** in order to connect to a secure network. Here's how to connect your new iPhone to a secure Wi-Fi network: \

1. On your Home screen, **go to Settings.**
2. **Select Wi-Fi.** Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on or enabled.
3. To connect to a secure Wi-Fi network, **tap the name of the network.**
4. Enter the **network's proper password.**
5. Join by using the **Join button.**

If you are unable to press Join, the password you entered is invalid. If you're still having trouble, try entering the **proper password again** or contact the network administrator for help. \
After you have **successfully joined the network**, you will see a checkmark next to the network name, and the Wi-Fi **signal strength indicato**r is shown in the upper-left side of your screen.
