If this problem arises without the need for an update, **it's most likely due to a random fault in the camera app**. You can fix the problem by forcing the app to close, restarting your iPhone, and then reopening the camera app. \

- To quit the camera app, **tap the Home button twice** to open the App Switcher, which lists all of the programs that are operating in the background. To close the camera app's preview, swipe upon it.

You may also s**hut off all background programs t**o remove the potential that one of them is generating a problem. When the applications are closed, press and **hold the Side/Power button until the Power off slider displays**, then restart your iPhone 8 Plus as usual. To totally turn off your iPhone, drag the slider. Press and hold the Side/Power button for another **30 seconds,** or until the Apple logo displays. \
When your iPhone is fully charged, boots up completely, launch the Camera app then test to see if autofocus is already working properly.
