- Your Apple ID and password are required (so you can turn off Activation Lock)
- Both your old and new iPhones must be connected to the internet via Wi-Fi.
- Both your Apple Watch and iPhone must be at least 50% charged.
- Your passcode for your Apple Watch (get help if you forgot your passcode)
- Keep your iPhone and Apple Watch near together. **On your [iPhone](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/95084/why-can-t-i-open-pdf-files-on-my-iphone), open the Apple Watch app.**
- If your iPhone prompts you to confirm that you want to use your watch, complete the setup by following the onscreen instructions.
- Unpair your Apple Watch if your iPhone prompts you to Start Pairing so you can set it up.
