Keeping programmes running in the background can be advantageous, especially while multitasking or reloading apps. Any of these background programmes, however, will ultimately crash, and when that happens, your other apps and system operations will most certainly be affected. In addition to sluggishness, your other programmes may become unstable in this situation. To be sure this isn't the cause of your **Instagram app's** strange behaviour, use these steps to forcefully close all of your background apps: \

1. **Swipe up** from the bottom of your screen to the middle, then **hold until the App Switcher appears.**
2. To access each of the background apps, **swipe left or right.**
3. **Touch and hold the app for a few seconds,** then tap the Minus (-) symbol. This causes the app to shut or terminate.
4. Alternatively, as soon as the Minus indicator appears, s**wipe up to dismiss the specific app.**

**Restart/reboot** after closing all background apps.
