If this is only a one-time hitch after an update, a **soft reset or restarting** your iPhone should solve the problem. To soft reset your iPhone 8, follow these steps: \

1. **Hold down the Side/Power button** until you get the **Slide to Power Off instruction.**
2. To turn your iPhone entirely off, **drag the slider to the right.**
3. Press and **hold the Power button** for **30 seconds**, or until the Apple logo displays, and then release.

There's no need to make backups because nothing on your device will be affected.
