- Look for evidence of damage, such as breakage or bent prongs, on your charging cable and USB adaptor. Don't utilize accessories that have been damaged. A **USB wall adapter with a Lightning to USB converter**

   - Check for **solid connections** between your charging cable, **USB wall adapter**, and wall outlet or AC power cord using a wall power outlet, or try a different outlet.
   - Remove any **dirt from your device's charging port** on the bottom, and then firmly insert your charging cable. Your smartphone will most likely require service if the charging port is damaged.
   - Allow a **half-hour** for your smartphone to charge.
   - If your device is still **unresponsive,** try the following steps to force it to restart:

- iPhone 8 or later, as well as the second-generation iPhone SE: **Quickly press** and **release the Volume Up** **button**. Quickly press and release the Volume Down button. Press and hold the Side button until you see the [Apple](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/86701/story-of-foxconn-a-key-manufacturer-of-apple-products-iphones) logo.

Allow another half-hour for your smartphone to charge.
