You'll need a computer (Windows or Mac) with the most recent operating system and iTunes software installed in this situation. Once you've gathered all of your materials, proceed as follows: \

1. **Use the USB** or **Lightning cable** that came with [your iPhone](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/50411/what-to-do-if-your-iphone-x-can-t-be-detected-by-computer) X to connect it to your computer.
2. **Wait for iTunes** to identify your iPhone when you open it on your computer.
3. In iTunes, choose your [**iPhone X**](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/50471/how-to-fix-unresponsive-display-problem-on-iphone-x) from the list of devices.
4. If required**, select the option to backup your iPhone X** to iCloud or iTunes on this computer.
5. Then, to reset your device, **click the Restore option.**
6. If prompted, confirm the operation by clicking Restore once again.
7. Wait until iTunes is finished downloading and installing the new software for your iPhone X then **set up your device as new.**
