A **factory reset** via iTunes might be a good option to try. You'll need a Windows PC or a Mac computer with the newest version of the iTunes program installed to complete this task. Connect your iPhone X to your computer via USB cable or the Lightning cable that came with it once you've secured a PC. Wait for iTunes to recognize your iPhone X before following these instructions to perform a factory reset using iTunes: \

1. On your PC, **launch iTunes.**
2. Using the **Lightning cord,** connect your iPhone X to your computer.
3. Wait for your iPhone to appear in **iTunes** and then choose it.
4. Go to th**e Summary section** of the report.
5. Then, on the **Restore [iPhone]** command, click it.
6. Read the message if requested, then **click Restore to confirm.** As a result, iTunes will begin wiping your device and installing the most recent iOS version.

After it **restores to factory settings,** your iPhone should restart on its own. Allow it to **finish booting up** and then you can set it up as new. \
