When someone is unable to digest milk then it is a problem of lactose [intolerance](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/209/what-is-this-intolerance). [Kids](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/300585/bow-legs-in-kids) mostly suffer from lactose disturbance.** However, some adults also find this problem. When such [people](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2295/more-people-need-to-monitor-this-crucial-metric-for-heart-health) eat milk or products made from them, they start to have problems in stomachache, flatulence or vomiting. According to one figure, there are about 3-4% of [children](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/299938/sleep-and-children) and 1% of adults suffering from lactose intake.

**This is caused by the lack of lactase enzyme in the body. When lactose of milk reaches the small intestine, the gluten and galactose break away from the lactose enzyme from which milk is easily digested.** If there is a lack of lactose enzyme in the body then lactose does not break down and the milk does not digest. \
