With so many moving pieces to keep track of, running a successful radiology practice takes a lot of time and attention. When compared to competing **radiology offices** that have adopted contemporary technology in the form of a **Radiology Information System,** practices that rely on old paper-based methods to manage their work and preserve patient data are at a major disadvantage. \
A **Radiology Information System** (RIS) is a complex database system used by radiology medical practitioners to maintain track of patient data and the massive picture files created during diagnosis and treatment. A radiology information system, or RIS, is a type of **electronic health record** (EHR) system built particularly for use in radiology. It's what you use to edit and disseminate patient data.
