[**TCP/IP networks**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_protocol_suite) may be divided into three categories. Each class makes varied use of the **32-bit IP** address space, giving the network element of the address more or fewer bits. **Class A, B, and C are the three categories.** \
**class A group** of people. The 'network component' of an IP address is comprised of the first eight bits.
