## A maximum of 24 logical drives is possible to fit onto a physical disk

A **logical drive** is a storage area that is constructed logically on top of a physical hard disc [**drive**](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/50034/i-can-t-write-to-sd-card). A logical drive is a distinct partition that works independently and has its own characteristics and functionalities A logical drive or logical disc partition is another name for a logical drive.
