- Like site, domain, and OU, **'[policy](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/23292/what-is-the-fee-structure-policy-of-an-international-school)'** is assigned in Active Directory. Users and groups are given '[Rights](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/81567/what-if-my-personal-rights-are-violated),' whereas network resources such as files, folders, and printers are given **'[Permission](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/33390/how-to-enable-api-access-in-salesforce-by-permission-set).'**
- A document's permissions determine which people or groups have access to it. A policy, on the other hand, is a programmable set of security attributes that specify what a user is permitted to do with a document.
- When creating a custom permission, such as when creating an app that other apps can connect to, limiting access is a necessary. When your programme requires a permission that it does not normally have, uses-permission is utilised.
