To secure access to your Wi-Fi network, you'll need to provide a password to your Airport device. The **WPA2 component** refers to the type of security that will be used in conjunction with your password to protect your network against illegal access. \
During setup, you'll be prompted to select a Wi-Fi security level as well as a password. WPA2 is the greatest option right now. (Don't forget to use a strong password!) \
**WPA2 is a security protoc**ol that is widely used on Wi-Fi networks. Since **2006, WPA2 (Wireless Protected Access 2)** has superseded the original WPA technology on all approved Wi-Fi devices, and it is based on the IEEE 802.11i data encryption technology standard.
