- Thunderbolt technology (created by Intel) allows USB C connectors to transmit data at speeds of up to 40 Gbps, which is twice as fast as the fastest 'normal' USB C port. Thunderbolt 3 (the most recent version) combines Thunderbolt, USB, power, and DisplayPort for ultra-fast data transport.
- The bandwidth of USB4 Gen 2x2 is 20Gbps. USB4 Gen 3x2 supports a data rate of 40 Gbps. This is the quickest USB yet, and it, like Thunderbolt 3, necessitates a 0.8-meter cable.
