- **Thunderbolt 3** USB C is the most recent thunderbolt version. Thunderbolt 3 may work in both active and passive modes, unlike Thunderbolt 1 and 2.
- Apple computers are supported by this Firewire 400 to 800 converter. (Only if you have a Firewire 400 device, as there is no Firewire 400 to USB C converter available.)
- A Firewire 800 to Thunderbolt converter that should work with both Macs and PCs.
- You can get an Apple Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 USB-C adaptor from Amazon or sweetwater.
- Without any data loss or connection issues, the Motu 896 Fire-wire was successfully connected to my computer's thunderbolt port.
- Thunderbolt USB-C connectors, on the other hand, are much quicker than Firewire ports, so don't anticipate lightning-fast speeds with a thunderbolt device.
