**Restart your Mac.** The hardware that regulates the charging of your MacBook, like the programs on your MacBook, might freeze. As a result, if your MacBook won't charge, **try restarting it.** A simple r**eboot might cure the problem** by resetting the hardware. \

1. In the upper left corner of your screen, **click the Apple logo.**
2. Press the **Restart button.**
3. Wait for your Mac to **reset** before charging it again.

**Allow your MacBook to cool down.**

It may come as a surprise, but **overheating might be the cause of your MacBook battery not charging.** As a safety measure, if the thermal sensors in your laptop detect a significant rise in temperature, they will prevent access to the battery.

What should you do if your MacBook is too hot to handle? Simply switch it off and let it alone for a while, or use a fan to quickly cool off your Mac. If you're working outside, take a break in the shade; intense sunlight might cause your Mac to overheat.
