- In [**Windows**](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/50530/what-to-do-when-your-apple-iphone-8-is-not-recognized-by-a-windows-computer-or-itunes) 10, what's usually referred to as a **'blue screen of death'** is really referred to as a stop error or fatal system error. This happens when the operating system crashes, which means it encountered a problem that stopped it from executing properly. When this occurs, Windows displays a blue screen with information about the issue before restarting.
- While faulty upgrades can sometimes cause problems, Microsoft and third-party firms frequently release updates to address issues like these. To see if any pending updates have the fix, go to Settings > Update & **Security > Windows Update.**
- It's also a good idea to double-check your drivers, as they can cause Windows 10 blue screens. To access the power user menu, press Win + X (or right-click on the Start button). Then select Device Manager to launch that programme.
- In this section, look for yellow triangle icons on any entries that suggest a driver issue. Any devices that appear with this should be double-checked, as you may need to reinstall the driver or uninstall the device.
- You can check for updates by right-clicking an entry and selecting Update driver, but this isn't always reliable
