He said, his medical practice sometimes did more harm to the patient than good. **After sometimes, while translating the writing of ‘William Cullen’, he found the claim that Cinchona, the bark of a Peruvian Tree, was effective in treating Malaria because of its astringency. This led him to postulate a healing principle and became the basis for an approach to medicine which he gave the name ‘Homeopathy’.** He continued his practice and research on the subject homeopathy, as well as writing and lecturing.
