**5th September** is the birth anniversary of **Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan**. In **India**, every year this day is celebrated as **Teacher’s Day**.

Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born on **5th September 1888** in **Thiruttani, Madras Presidency (now Chennai), British India**. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was the **1st Vice President of India** and the **2nd President of India**. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was in office from **26th January 1952 to 12th May 1962** as the 1st Vice President of India. He was succeeded by **Zakir Hussain**. During this period **Jawaharlal Nehru** was the **Prime Minister of India**.

Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan succeeded **Rajendra Prasad** as the **President of India**. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was in office from **14th May 1962 to 13th May 1967** as the **2nd President of India**. During this tenure, there were several Prime Ministers of India. The Prime Ministers were **Jawaharlal Nehru, Gulzarilal Nanda (acting Prime Minister twice), Lal Bahadur Shastri** and **Indira Gandhi**. Later Zakir Hussain succeeded Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and became the **3rd President of India**.

Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was a **philosopher** and a **professor** by profession. Born to **Sarvepalli Veeraswami (father)** and **Sarvepalli Sita** known as **Sitamma (mother)**, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan received his primary education at **K.V. High School** at **Thiruttani**. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan also studied at the **Hermansburg Evangelical Lutheran Mission School** in **Tirupati** and also at the **Government Higher Secondary School** at **Walajapet**. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan received a **master’s degree** in **philosophy** in **1906** from **Madras Christian College**. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was one of the most distinguished scholars of the twentieth century. He was the **professor of philosophy** at the **University of Mysore** from **1918 to 1921**. He was a professor of **Mental and Moral Science** at the **University of Calcutta** from **1921 to 1932**. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was the **Spalding Professor of Eastern Religion and Ethics** at the **University of Oxford** from **1936 to 1952**. After becoming the President of the country, the students of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan proposed to celebrate his birthday but Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan insisted on celebrating his birthday as **Teachers Day**. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan passed away on **17th April 1975** at the age of **86** in **Madras (now Chennai), Tamil Nadu, India**.

Teacher Day Celebrate on 5th September every year. not only because of Radhakrishan Birthday on this day. The main of reason of celebration this teacher day every year. Its present much more respect for teachers and teachers gives much more love for their students. thats why on this day student becomes teacher to celebrate teacher day. thank you.
