Hamid Ansari** published a book titled **China - Confucius in the Shadows** on **May 1, 2015**. Confucius was often regarded as China's most efficient author. Poonam Surie is the author of the book. **Poonam Surie** is a **New Delhi**-based **Adjunct** Fellow at the Institute of Chinese Studies.\

The book argues that in China's changing **sociopolitical environment, reading Confucian philosophy as non-confrontational, benevolent, and based on principles like filial piety and harmony** could aid the current political regime in dealing with issues like corruption and **rising inequality**. \
