**Khushwant Singh**, the most prominent Indian writer of the twentieth century also known as the best-known columnist of India had a great history as a renowned Indian author, lawyer, diplomat, journalist and politician. Undoubtedly, he made a big contribution to the cultural heritage of our country in his life.

The most well-known novel written by him in 1956 was Train to Pakistan, the great depiction of 1947 Partition of India. His autobiography **Khushwantnama – The Lessons of my Life** was published in **2013** when he turned 98 on the Independence day. \
**Khushwantnama** is partially an autobiography and partially commentary on **[Khushwant’s](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/92628/what-were-some-amazing-hobbies-of-khushwant-singh)** favourite subjects such as politics, religion, society and India’s future. The book encloses the depiction and relevance of Secularism, the pain of partition, the joys of sex, the pleasures of poetry and the significance of laughter in life. As Khushwant seemed to have lived a long and full life, he was well suited to write on subjects like old age and fear of death, how to handle retirement and directions for a long, happy and healthy life. \
According to his belief, his real-life started when he got enrolled himself in reading and writing and admitted himself in a journalistic career in which he received the opportunities to edit prestigious publications like **The Illustrated Weekly of India, National Herald and the Hindustan Times**. \
