The West Indies had the power-packed batting line-up comprising openers **Gordon Greenidge** and **Desmond Haynes**, followed by **Vivian Richards** and captain **Clive Lloyd** who were capable of destroying any bowling attack and were expected to show an extraordinary play in front of the mediocre bowling line up of team India. But India presented a good bowling show and limited the WIndies team to **140 all out in the 53rd over**.
