The player who performs exceptionally well in the whole tournament is awarded the awards of Player of the series or Player of the tournament. **In cricket, the performance is judged on the basis of the all-round performance of a player. If a player does well with both bat and ball when he gets eligible for being awarded as a player of the series.**
