Before **2000**, **Shahid Afridi** held the record for the **[fastest century](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/47296/who-holds-the-record-for-the-fastest-century-break)**, which he achieved in just **37** balls in **1996**. \
In **[international cricket](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/94027/when-was-the-fastest-ball-delivered-in-international-cricket-what-is-the-name-of-that-bowler)**, **Sachin Tendulkar** is known as the **century king**. In international cricket, he has **100 centuries**. **Ricky Ponting** is ranked second in the world in terms of the most centuries. **Ponting** has **41 test** hundreds and **30 ODI** centuries to his credit. **Kohli**, an **Indian veteran** cricketer, is in **third place** with **70 international hundreds**. \
**Ab de Villiers**, the top batsman, scored **149 off 44 balls** to set a new record for most **sixes** in an innings (**16**) by one player in **ODI formats**. \
In **2013**, **Virat Kohli** made his **fastest century** in cricket history, scoring a century in just **52 balls** against **Australia**.
