[**Albert Roger Miller**](https://www.britannica.com/biography/Roger-Milla) (born 20 May 1952), referred to as Roger Milla, is a retired Cameroonian professional footballer who played as a forward position [player](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/story/3196/best-performer-player-in-world-cup-2023). He was one of the first African players to be primary stars at a global level. He performed in three World Cups for the Cameroon national team.\

He achieved global stardom at 38 years of age, an age at which maximum forwards have retired, by way of scoring 4 goals on the 1990 FIFA World Cup. He helped Cameroon emerge as the first African team to reach the World Cup quarter-finals. Four years later, at the age of 42, Milla became the oldest goalscorer in World Cup history by scoring in opposition to Russia inside the 1994 FIFA World Cup. He is now an itinerant ambassador for African causes. In 2004, he was named to the FIFA top 100, a listing of the one hundred twenty-five finest footballers selected by legendary Pelé in conjunction with FIFA's centenary celebrations.
