**Sailen Manna (1971)** - Another **Mohun Bagan defender** on the list, Manna was a commander from the back. He was the **captain of the Indian team** that **won the gold medal** in the **Asian Games in 1951**, as well as the team that competed in the **Helsinki Olympics in 1952**.

**Sailendra Nath Manna**, often known as Sailen Manna, was an Indian international footballer who is widely regarded as one of the **best defenders India** has ever produced. He was born on **September 1, 1924, and died on February 27, 2012.**

He is the only **Asian footballer to be chosen by the English FA as one of the top ten captains in the world in 1953**.

He graduated from **Surendranath College, a University of Calcutta-affiliated** **college**. He worked for the **Indian Geological Survey.**

In **1971, the Indian government bestowed the Padma Shri on him**.

In **2001, he was also given the title of 'Mohun Bagan Ratna.'**
