In the **1966 [Asian Games](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/52057/which-of-the-following-city-going-to-host-asian-games-2022)**, the **mixed doubles** event was added. In **1962**, the s**olitary winner of the bronze medal** was determined by a **playoff** between the **two semifinal losers**; however, since **1966**, **two bronze medals** have been awarded in each event (**except in 1974**). \

Each match consists of three games, each of which is worth **21 points**. The game uses rally scoring, which means that a player does not have to be serving to score.
