**Snehlata Shrivastava, a 1982 batch IAS officer from Madhya Pradesh is the new secretary general of Lok Sabha** in India. She is the **first women secretary of Lok Sabha** and assumed charge on1 Dec 2017, and her tenure will end on 30 Nov 2018. She took charge a day after when Anoop Mishra relinquished the post. Snehlata was till secretary (Justice) in law ministry. She was a senior civil servant with 35 years of rich administrative experiences and has a **special status of cabinet secretary.**
