**Darbara Singh (10th February 2016 – 10th March 1990)** was the **tenth Chief Minister of Punjab**. He held office from **6th June 1980 to 10th October 1983** representing **Nakodar** constituency in **Jalandhar** district, **Punjab**, **India**. Darbara Singh was an Indian politician belonging to the **Indian National Congress (INC)** party.

Singh was also the Member of Parliament in the **Lok Sabha (lower house of the parliament)** representing **Hoshiarpur, Punjab** from **1971 to 1977**.

**Captain Amarinder Singh (born on March 11th, 1942)** an Indian politician from Indian National Congress is the **26th** and the **current** Chief Minister of Punjab. He assumed office on **16th March 2017**. He was the **Member of Parliament** from **26th May 2014 to 23rd November 2016** representing **Amritsar**. He was the **Captain** of the **Sikh Regiment** in the **Indian Army** from **1963 to 1965**. Captain Amarinder Singh is also the **chairman** of **Punjab Urdu Academy**.
