**Piyush Goyal** is the **Minister of Railways**. He assumed office on **3rd September 2017** under **Prime Minister Narendra Modi**.

He was the **Minister of Mines (Independent Charge)** from **5th July 2016 to 3rd September 2017**. He represents **Maharashtra** as a **Member of Parliament** in the **Rajya Sabha**. He is a Member of Parliament since **5th July 2016**. He was reelected on **3rd June 2016** representing Maharashtra as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha or **Council of States (the upper house of the parliament)**. He was an **Investment banker** and has served on the **board** of **State Bank of India** as well as **Bank of Baroda**.
