**Jagat Prakash Nadda** is the **Minister of Health and Family Welfare**. He assumed office on **9th November 2014** under **Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi**.

Jagat Prakash Nadda was born on **2nd December 1960** in **Patna, Bihar, India**. He is a member of the **Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP)** and serves as **Parliamentary Board Secretary** of the party. He is a **Member of Parliament** in **Rajya Sabha** representing **Himachal Pradesh** from **3rd April 2012**. Mr J P Nadda also held several portfolios in the **Himachal Pradesh government**. Mr Nadda was the **Member of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly** for **Bilaspur twice**. He held the office from **1993 to 2003**. Mr Nadda again represented Bilaspur in the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly from **2007 to 2012**. Mr Jagat Prakash Nadda was the **Minister of Health, Family Welfare and Parliamentary Affairs** from 1998 to 2003 in the Himachal Pradesh government. Mr Nadda also served as the **Minister of Environment, Forest, Science & Technology** from **2007 to 2012** in the Himachal Pradesh government. Mr Nadda completed his education from **St. Xavier’s School Patna**. He received his **B.A.** from **Patna University** and finished his **LLB** from **Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla**.
