**Sunny Verghese**, Co-Founder and Group [Chief Executive Officer](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/38742/who-was-appointed-as-the-chief-executive-officer-ceo-of-niti-aayog-recently) of Olam International, has been appointed as the chairman of **the Geneva-based World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD)**. His term has been started from 1 January for the duration of two years and the [appointment](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/39546/till-which-year-the-appointments-of-the-civil-services-were-exclusively-done-by-the-directors-of-the-east-india-company) has been made by a vote from the members at the 2017 Annual general meeting of WBCSD held in Mexico-city.

**He succeeds Mr. Paul Polman who was the CEO of Unilever**.
