Venkaiah Naidu](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/44568/union-minister-for-urban-development-and-housing-m-venkaiah-naidu-launched-which-app-with-msefc-portal)” on February 4, 2018.** **The International Kala Mela was organized by the ‘Lalit Kala Academy’ in collaboration with IGNCA (Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts) of the [Ministry of Culture](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/44606/the-secretary-of-union-ministry-of-culture-recently-inaugurated-an-exhibition-revolutionary-patriots-1905-1947).**

With a total 325 exhibition stalls, about 800 [artists](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/31472/which-ministry-launched-the-talent-hunt-for-artists-and-give-them-a-platform-to-showcase-their-talent-on-the-national-stage) took part in the festival from across the world. The festival was concluded on February 17, 2018, at the IGNCA, New Delhi. **It was the first time that the Academy has planned the International Kala Mela at such a large scale.** Many Embassies and [Cultural Centres](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/39729/name-the-mela-which-is-held-once-every-12-years-and-which-has-been-recognised-as-an-intangible-cultural-heritage-of-humanity-by-the-unesco) were the participants of the Kala Mela and made the festival an [International](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/48308/who-scored-the-fastest-50-in-one-day-international) Success. The main objective of the Kala Mela was to focus on the direct interaction between the artist and the connoisseur and also educating and raising [awareness](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/39207/the-assam-government-will-observe-rhino-day-on-which-date-to-generate-public-awareness-on-protection-of-the-one-horned-pachyderm) about art.
