**[Instagram](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/32374/how-can-i-get-started-on-instagram)** has increased in popularity to become one of the most widely used **social media sites**. Instagram, on the other hand, can become overpowering at times. It eats up all of our free time, as well as the time we could be doing something more constructive. As a result, many users may choose to **[deactivate](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/31468/how-to-de-activate-my-instagram-account)**their accounts, if only temporarily. Unfortunately, this may give the appearance to their followers that they have been blocked unexpectedly.

If someone's Instagram account is deactivated, you should determine whether the person has a public or private account. It will be more difficult to find out if they have a private account. Because if they block you, you won't be able to find them on the **web** or in the **app**.

You'll be able to see all of the person's posts if they have a public profile. If they've uploaded any photos or videos, this is where you'll find them. If they haven't, it will say **'No Posts Yet'** and their post counter will be set to **'0.'**

If the user has a private profile, it will state **'This account is private'** and you will not be able to see any of their postings, even if their counter is greater than zero. Their account has not been disabled if you can see their profile but not their posts.\

If the individual has **blocked you but has not canceled their account**, they will not display in your search results.

You'll be able to see hashtags that contain the precise words of the username you're looking for. They're not likely to be related to the initial profile. If they do link the original user, you'll see a page that says **'User not found'** when you tap on it.\
