**Zachary Taylor** (**November 24, 1784 – July 9, 1850**) was the **twelfth President of the United States**, serving from ***March 1849 until his demise***. Taylor beforehand was a career officer in the **United States Army**, rose to the rank of major general, and turned into a national hero because of his triumphs in the **Mexican– American War**, which won him the election to the **White House** in spite of his obscure political convictions. His best need as president was protecting the Union, yet he passed on sixteen months into his term, before gaining any ground on the status of subjection, which had been kindling pressures in Congress.

Taylor was naturally introduced to an unmistakable group of a grower who relocated westbound from **Virginia** to **Kentucky** in his childhood. He was charged as an officer in the **U.S. Armed forces** in **1808** and became well known as a **Captain** in the **War of 1812**. He climbed the positions building up military forts along the **Mississippi River** and entered the B**lack Hawk War** as a **Colonel** in **1832**. His accomplishment in the Second Seminole War pulled into national consideration and earned him the epithet "**Old Rough and Ready**". In **1845**, amid the extension of **Texas President James K. Polk** dispatched **Taylor** to the **Rio Grande** in foresight of a fight with Mexico over the debated Texas– Mexico fringe. The **Mexican– American War** softened out up **April 1846**, and Taylor vanquished Mexican troops summoned by **General Mariano Arista** at the **Battles of Palo Alto** and **Resaca de la Palma** and drove his troops out of Texas. Taylor at that point drove his troops into Mexico, where they vanquished Mexican troops instructed by Pedro de Ampudia at the Battle of Monterrey.
