**Cash Equity** refers to the liquidity of an [investment](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/157040/6-investments-to-make-to-improve-your-customer-service); or that portion of any investment that could be converted into cash. It also refers to the company issuing stocks to the [public](https://www.mindstick.com/interview/757/why-main-in-java-is-declared-as-public-static-void-main) and their institutional [trading](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/302522/the-basics-of-forex-trading-what-you-need-to-know-to-get-started).

It is that [property](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/205/property-notification-in-c-sharp) amount which is not borrowed [against](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2526/resolution-against-anti-satellite-tests-adopted-by-un-to-reduce-space-debris) mortgage as the Line of Credit. In the **capital [market](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/329163/how-to-expand-your-business-in-global-markets)**, cash equity trading refers to the **trading of equities or stocks done by large financial institutions** on major stock exchanges, i.e., **Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE).**

On major stock exchanges these [companies](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/331387/is-erp-suitable-for-only-big-companies) work by **trading the shares using a firm's capital**. For example, a financial institute called Z decides to buy 30 shares of ITC because of the expectation of rise in prices in the future.

Hence, the company will [trade](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2401/stablecoins-are-able-to-make-profits-as-btc-and-eth-continue-to-trade-at-low-levels-with-losses) on behalf of the [customers](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/44795/easy-ways-to-reach-more-customers) registered under its name & will gain profit from ITC's profit too. It can keep the investment for a longer time or trade it for short-term gains.

**Purchasing equity indicated ownership in the company.** One can purchase shares and retain them for longer durations as a long term investment [tool](https://www.mindstick.com/interview/724/what-is-the-resgen-exe-tool-used-for) or shares can be traded for shorter durations to make quick profits.

*Cash Equity trading by investment firms focuses on short term trading. They intend to generate quick and large profits from changing market prices.* This would give their capital the desired liquidity.
