Born on 4 April 1933, Nadkarni appeared in cricket in the Rohinton Baria trophy for the University of Pune in **the year 1950 and just after a year he entered in the first class cricket and made his debut for Maharashtra.**

He **got a lucky break in 1955 when he got picked for playing against NewZealand in the Test which was going to be played at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium.** Nadkarni scored 68 runs and was not out and bowled 57 overs without getting any wicket in debut match. \
With **an exceptional economy of less than 2.00, he is mostly renowned for his epic bowling in Madras Test against England in 1963-64** in which he **bowled around 29 over in which he bowled 26 maiden overs.** He was **famous for bowling an unerring line to batsmen which made nearly impossible for the batsman to score runs.**
