**England** edged **Venezuela** **1-0** in an exciting **FIFA U-20 World Cup Korea Republic 2017** finals because of a first-half strike from **Dominic Calvert-Lewin** at the **Suwon World Cup Stadium**.

**Calvert-Lewin** scored the triumphant goal in the **35th minute** when he completed from short proximity after his initial exertion was obstructed by **Wuilker Farinez**, yet the bounce back fell into the way of the Everton forward and he committed no error with his additional opportunity.

**Britain goalkeeper Freddie Woodman** made two fundamental spares in the second half. The first was a one-on-one open door for Sergio Cordova made by **Yeferson Soteldo**, and the second from the punishment spot from **Adalberto Penaranda**.

The match was equally challenged all through, with the two sides hitting the woodwork, yet it was England's night at last, as the Young Lions clutched move toward becoming **U-20 World Cup champions** out of the blue.
