**Syed Mahmud Hossain** has been sworn-in as the **22nd Chief Justice of Bangladesh**. He succeeded acting **Chief Justice Abdul Wahab Mian**. Mian was designated as the acting **Chief Justice** after **Bangladesh's first Hindu Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha** surrendered in **November 2017** in the midst of joint claims. **Juestice Sinha** was in the middle phase of the debate after the summit court conveyed a decision announcing void sixteenth constitutional amendment, rejecting Parliament's power in impugning Supreme Court judges.
