**The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) has introduced the “Stree Swabhiman Initiative” through CSC Common Service Centre).** This is a unique initiative to ensure good health and hygiene for women. Under this scheme, the government will provide eco-friendly menstrual pads to women.

**This initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will focus mainly on "[empowering women](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/1/rights-which-women-are-empower-with)".** Ravi Shankar Prasad (Electronics and IT and Law and Justice Minister) and Alphons Kannanathanam (Minister of State for Electronics and IT and Tourism - IC) will initiate this initiative.

## The main objectives of the Stree Swabhiman Initiative are described below:
